According
to the excerpt dated 3 March, 2013 from
New Straits Times, ‘ Prisoners to get varsity-level courses’ i can conclude
that prisoner also need education because they need another new chance to
build their new life. Even though they are prisoner they also a normal human
being. They also want to have better life together with their family. From my
point of view, i can see that the Prisons Department initiatives to enhance the
skills and educational level of prisoner to increase their competency after
serving their sentence is good for them. Nowadays, prisoner are not welcome to
be a part of educational field such as in University and so on. This perhaps
will bring them to return to their past activities that against the Malaysian
rules. The scholarship offered is also good because sometimes commonly the prisoner comes from poor family background In addition, they might commit crime just because to earn money to further their study because they did not
afford to pay for the fees, their study life cost, books and many more. We
should think positively about their wants to have education and give them
chance to have new better life. The excerpts also writes that, since July last year, 1764 prisoners had had received certificates in skill training and 703 obtain certificates for other
achievement. This show they are really eager to have education to have better
life and clearly shows the positive impact on both prisoners and country. It
also help the government to build peace country because the had build the prisoners moral by giving them chances to have education and change their
life. In a nutshell i can conclude that, we as a Malaysian, need to support
any positive effort from our government.
